3 Apps To Help You Save Money

Confession time: I love to shop. I spend more money than I probably should and my spending habits could use some work. But one thing I am really good at is making the most of my spending with coupons, sales, deals and cash back. The best way to stay on track of deals and cash back for me is with apps and browser plugins! I do about half of my shopping online, and between these three apps, I feel like I save money or get cash back on almost all my purchases, from clothing to groceries.

Check out my three favorite ways to shop smarter below. For all of these apps, I have linked my referral codes, which will get us both extra money!

Ebates is awesome. I’ve been using it since college and it’s a super easy tool to use. Basically, it gives you cash back on tons of sites when you shop. You can install it as a Chrome extension and get it as an app for iOS and Android. All you have to do to earn cash back is activate the extension when shopping and connect a Paypal account to your Ebates account! Recently, I’ve used Ebates on sites like Etsy, Sephora and Target, and there are so many more fantastic stores that offer cash back listed on Ebates. Browse the site and I’m sure you’ll find a lot of your favorites.

Sign up for Ebates here! You’ll get $10 for freeeee after making your first purchase of $25+ on a site that uses Ebates.

Drop is my new favorite app. It’s ridiculously simple to navigate, easy to use and takes about 5 minutes to set up. After you create an account and link your credit cards, you get points every time you spend money at your 5 favorite stores/sites (mine are Trader Joe’s, Target, Sephora, Safeway & Lyft!), which you pick from a list when you create an account. Once your stores are picked and your cards are linked, you just keep buying your groceries, makeup and other stuff as normal and points start to show up in your account! The points can be redeemed for gift cards at places like Target, Sephora, iTunes, Amazon and more. In addition to your favorite stores, which always give you points, special deals come up on the app all the time for different brands, from makeup companies to food subscription services.

Right now, I’m saving my points for a Sephora gift card. So basically, all my random purchases at Target and to-go salads from Trader Joes can help me save some money next time I want to try a new face mask! I’ve only been using the app for 3 months and I’m already 77% to getting a $10 gift card to Sephora.

Honey is another browser extension I’ve been using for years. It automatically finds and applies coupon codes at checkout on thousands of websites. It scans all available codes to get you the best deal possible! You can also add items to a list and Honey will notify you if the prices drop. Current stores with discounts on Honey include H&M, Bath & Body Works, Amazon, Walgreens, Best Buy, Colourpop, Barnes & Noble and more.
