Lizzo

Lizzo’s new album, “Cuz I Love You,” is EVERYTHING. I’ve had it on repeat for weeks and can’t get enough. I’ve been a fan of hers for a while and it’s exciting to watch more people discover how magical she is. I also think it’s really empowering to watch/read her interviews, because she is so confident and unafraid to be herself. I did manage to snag tickets to see her in concert this fall, so I stoked for that!

Klaede Kerchief

I recently discovered this brand just in time for the launch of its San Francisco collection. The kerchiefs are vintage-inspired and all the patterns are hand-painted by a female artist before being scanned and printed onto fabric. My current favorite kerchief is the Haight Ashbury print from the San Francisco collection. Slowly but surely, I’m transitioning into an accessories collection of only small, female-owned brands and I’m so about it.

Project Runway

I’ve been watching this show since I was a tween, but the current season may be one of the best yet. Even though Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum are gone, I’m still a big fan - it’s still one of the only competition shows on tv I enjoy. With a new host, mentor, and workroom, Project Runway has gotten a mini-makeover, but the talent of the designers is still incredible. I can’t believe it’s already on season 17! In addition to watching the newest season, I have been rewatching older seasons, and they are giving me a lot of creative inspiration, as well as reminding me how much I love fashion. So maybe there will be more fashion content on this blog soon!

My Sister The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite

My only complaint about this book is that it was too short! It instantly captivated me and I read it in just a few hours. I love a good crime story, but it’s been a while since I read a fictional one. The author has a true knack for suspenseful storytelling and I hope she publishes more books soon.

PYT Beauty

As mentioned in my last post, PYT recently sent me a few of its “BS-free” beauty products. Right now, I’m really loving the Upgrade highlighter in ‘Front Row.’ The peachy tone of it complements my skin tone well and it stays on nicely all day. It’s my only warm highlighter right now and probably the only one I’ll use all summer.

Jensen & Holes: The Murder Squad

If you’re a murderino, you already know this podcast. But if you’re not, here’s why you should listen: this podcast is true crime and hosted by a former cold case investigator, Paul Holes and investigative journalist Billy Jensen. The two men met when the Golden State Killer was finally arrested in 2018, a case both were heavily involved in. Each episode of the podcast covers a case that has some unsolved aspects and helps employ citizen sleuth techniques to crowdsource the potential solving of crimes. It’s a fantastic podcast and they often have guests from law enforcement or who were involved in the cases being discussed.

Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask

I know I mentioned YTTP in my last favorites post, but this brand is just killing it lately. This mask has been a savior the past few months because I’ve tried a few products that ended up wrecking my skin moisture barrier and texture. A few nights of this mask in a row and my skin completely heals and goes back to its normal texture and softness. I am trying to use my mini size as efficiently as possible, because as I've established, YTTP’s prices do hurt my heart a bit. However, for something this good, I might just need to make the investment.
